GODDESS SWITCH PLATE COVERS

GODDESS SWITCH PLATE COVERS

GIVERS OF LIGHT

"She Who Knows Her Own Sacred Sound"

When I started making my “Giver of Light” switch plate covers, I knew I was on to a good thing. Each time I would make one, and this is true today, it would sell. Finally, I decided to keep a few for myself. I have placed them on most of the wall switches in my home. It is wonderful to turn on a light and be greeted by a Goddess!

Some of my “Givers” are ornate, others are a bit simpler. I give them names because I believe anything worth owning is worth naming. I have named my car B-dazle, my home, Woodloft and the list goes on.

Giver of Laundry Room Light

This one is a bit masculine

I just finished creating two new “Givers.” The first one is “She Who Knows Her Own Sacred Sound.” I think we all have a sacred sound. It is sometimes a melody that flows through our minds as we go about our daily tasks. It is sacred to us as the tune plays through our very souls, becoming the mantra that brings harmony to our lives.

Sold. Thank you Kyle

The second one is She Who Seeks the Path of the Ancients, I am always in pursuit of clues to our civilization’s beginnings. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we knew the answer to life’s mysteries? I sometimes imagine myself finding a special book that solves that mystery or having a dream that would explain it all.

I used stoneware clay that I fired in my kiln and embellished each “Giver” a bit different. They are 4” wide by 8” high. Hope you love them as I do. You can find them at my Etsy Shop by clicking the name.

  16. They are all AMAZING!! Shame (or not so for my bank account ;) ) our light switches are different and they wouldn't exactly work in our house...then again we could change them all again.............

  17. These are incredible, Cheryl. You won't believe it, but I just bought 2 nice, heavy switch covers for .25. My thought was to priti them up with some clay, glass, charms...
Yours are more exquisite than what I will make, but I love the extra inspiration! Great minds...in the same forest, on different paths. (or something like that)

By the way, I'm also from Ohio, and I love Virginia. I have an exhibition in Richmond right now. How do you like Roanoke?

  25. These are fantastic!!! How can I buy one!! Seriously I would love one in my new home! This is so funny because I was dreaming about designing switch plates the other night and was telling my husband about it. My new house has so many glass windows (not a lot of wall space)the best place to show off some art would be in switch plates. I would love one of yours. Do you have any for sale at the moment?

  29. Simply incredible! I know I've been busy, but I can't believe I missed this when you first posted it. I now feel I can breathe a bit and catch up on what you are working on, since most of my obligations are out of the way and Bleubeard seems to be on the mend. All of these light switches are gorgeous and adorable, but I LOVE, LOVE the one for the laundry room. It took me awhile to find that they were made of kiln fired stoneware clay. They are all so lovely. I really, really want to come play in your studio one of these days. SERIOUSLY!!
