WITHIN THE WITHIN GODDESS NECKLACE
WITHIN THE WITHIN GODDESS NECKLACE
Picture of "Within the Within" on Manniquin
Years ago, I took a correspondence course with Yehwehnode Two Wolves-Twyla Nitch, clan mother of the Seneca tribe in New York. She named her followers “The Keepers of the Stones” and even sent me my own special stone in a little leather pouch. I have kept it through the years and think of her often. She passed away a few years ago. I was glad that I sent her a story I had written about the Seneca’s and her in particular. titled ” Within the Within,” I sent it to Twyla for her approval. She read it and told me that she approved of all but one word. The last word in my story ended with the word “power.” Twyla explained to me that if I changed that name to “withinness,” more “power” would be invoked into my story because it was the “withiness” that takes us to our center and our truth.

Here is the story I wrote.
Within the Within
At a very young age, she had learned to speak the language of the stones and the language of the trees. Her people, the Seneca, Keepers of the Western Door of the symbolic Longhouse, had taught her.
They taught her of the foundation of truth which is called "within the within.'" She learned of the sanctity of the circle and how it symbolizes perfect truth and is considered the pathway of peace and harmony.
But of all the many truths that she was taught, he sould knew a truth that her mind was just beginning to comprehend..HER truth. For there is no collective truth. The truth of one soul is not the same as that of another. She knew that truth's purpos is growth...soul growth. She would be open to all truths but true to her own. She knew that by being true to herself, therein she would find her withiness.
Chain Detail
Within the Within is 3” w x 10 1/2 “ long with 81/2 “ chain measured from neck to top of necklace. This particular necklace, unlike some of the other ones I have created, would work well for a shorter gal. I’m very tall and tend to make them all geared toward my height.
I used turquoise and other embellishments and sculpted an original clay face as the focal point of the necklace. I hope whoever receives my necklace wears her with power and withiness.

HEALING WOMAN
GODDESS NECKLACE
Healing Woman Goddess Necklace
Healing Woman
Sold. Thank you Cheryl H!
Dredged from antiquity..daughter of fire emerges with the healing power of the ages..Voices lost in time whisper to her of healing on many levels.
Energy rises from her very soul as she remembers the responsibility bestowed upon her.
She is the Studda Bubba, the witch, the magician and the shaman..the very essence of the healer.
She calls upon the great mother to share with her the wisdom of her yield.
Knowing she is merely the vehicle of a force far greater than she, and with great integrity, the healing woman delivers her cures as the power moves through her hands of light.
~Cheryl Dolby~
Shown With Turquoise Chain
Shown on Mannequin for Length
This is her mantra. This is her life. Her special necklace accompanies her as she delivers her cures, both physical and verbal. Healing Woman can be found just about anywhere there is a need.
Shown on Wall as Wearable Art
I have created her necklace by using turquoise, metal feather and fetishes. Her face is an original, just like she is. It is stoneware clay and is the focal point of the necklace. The width of base is 3” and length, including jangles is 6.” The turquoise chain itself is long-about 12” from the neck but because of the unique latch, it can be adjusted to be worn much shorter.
Close-Up
I have priced Healing Woman at $125.00 She is waiting for that special woman to choose her for their journeys into the unknown. Maybe it will be you.

SUNFLOWER COLLAGE
SUNFLOWER COLLAGE

Close-Up of "Blooming Spirit"
The other day, I was perusing through my favorite blogs and came across MsElenaeous Rants and Rave’s, which is the title of a blog created by a friend of mine. Elena is a very talented writer who moved here to Roanoke, Virginia a few years back. Although she has made our mountainous area her home, she speaks of missing her life in NYC. I thought about her dilemma. Having lived in many different places after graduating from high school, I can sympathize with her. I think we all tend to compare our new surroundings with the area in which we grew up.

Full Length "Blooming Spirit" 12"x24"
In response to Elena, I immediately thought of a poem I wrote, titled “Blooming Spirit.” Coincidentally, I was working on a renaissance oil collage of a girl with sunflowers and after I read Elena's blogpost, I thought it would be serendipitous to name my sunflower girl after my poem. Here is the poem and details about my painting.

Just in case you cannot read the wording on Blooming Spirit's cloak, I have included it here.
“Blooming Spirit”
Her home was far away and she longed for the roots that had for so long held her life together; friends, family and familiar surroundings. Time passed as she quietly endured her sorrow. Finally, she rejoiced, for her soul, who knew far more than she, revealed a great truth: “Change is growth, you must bloom where you are planted.”
~Cheryl Dolby~
I do believe that it is important to “Bloom where you are planted.” If you choose to make the very most of the area or even situation you find yourself in, you will truly find that before long..you will be home again.
Blooming Spirit is an original oil and acrylic collage. I distressed her by using a crackle solution. I used the Renaissance Oil Method and collaged the background.
Blooming Spirit is for sale. I have priced her at $175.00. She is 12”w x 24”h x ½” For shipping prices to Alaska , Hawaii, or other countries, please e-mail me.
